The Knot
Personal | Summer 2016 | Wayfinding
The Knot is a wayfinding project I completed with a team of four other graphic communication design students during our summer semester. The project task was to design a wayfinding system to solve problems in an assigned community. Our community was Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio. We spent the semester interviewing members and organizations in Walnut Hills, attending community meetings, identifying our problem, and crafting a solution.
I was lucky to work with such a multidiciplinary team–although we worked on everything together, each member had a unique skill to personally contribute to our project. For me, I leaned into the role of researcher and strategist by writing up the initial research protocols, leading our synthesis sessions, crafting the map and bigger picture ideas, and framing and presenting our narrative.
